Root Canal Therapy Albuquerque
Root canal therapy is a sequence of treatments designed to remove the infected nerve and blood vessels of a tooth. Once the infection, nerve and blood vessels have been removed from the roots and pulp chamber of the tooth, the hollow roots are then filled and sealed with a material called gutta-percha. Because the core support of the tooth has been removed, a core build-up and crown are indicated to restore function and prevent the tooth from fracturing. It is important to keep in-mind that because a tooth has had root canal therapy, that does not mean it has immunity against re-infection. It is important to maintain good hygiene on a root canal treated tooth as it is any another tooth.
